Our Guidelines
We are committed to creating a community that fosters a positive and inclusive environment; where all members can feel respected and comfortable engaging with one another.
We kindly request that you familiarise yourself with our community guidelines and uphold them when participating in our At Her Table community.
Practice active listening and respectful communication
We encourage the practice of active listening and respectful communication in our community. We value every member's perspective and believe that everyone deserves to be heard and treated with respect. When engaging in conversation with others, we ask that you listen actively, refrain from interrupting, ask questions, and strive to understand their point of view. Please communicate respectfully, using polite language and a calm tone, even if you have a different opinion.
Speak your truth in ways that respect other people’s truth
In our community, we value the contributions of every member and believe that everyone has something valuable to offer. We encourage you to share your knowledge and experiences with others to facilitate learning and growth. At the same time, we also encourage you to be open to learning from others in the community. Together, we can foster an environment where everyone can learn and grow from one another.
Respect diversity and inclusion
In our community, we embrace diversity as a source of strength. We value and celebrate the differences among us, including those related to culture, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and ability. We expect all members to treat one another with respect and refrain from engaging in any form of discrimination, hate speech, or harassment. We have zero tolerance for such behaviour, and any violations will not be tolerated. Let's work together to create a welcoming and inclusive community for everyone.
Be accountable for your actions
In our community, we believe that every member has a role to play in creating a positive and supportive environment. We ask that you take responsibility for your actions and the impact they may have on others. We encourage you to offer advice only when asked for it and to be mindful of how your words and actions may affect others. If you make a mistake or cause harm to someone, we ask that you take responsibility for your actions, apologise, and work to make things right. Let's all work together to create a community where everyone feels supported and valued.
Be mindful of time and resources
We recognise that our time together as a community is precious and should be used wisely. To make the most of our time, we encourage you to be present fully and engage actively with others. Take a moment to pause and ensure that you are expressing yourself in a way that feels authentic and empowering, while also leaving space for others to do the same.
