Tables.

Hello Friend,

I love being by the seaside and it is often where I feel the most calm, peace and closeness with God. Last week I visited Mollymook beach with my family - I went down to the sand on my own one day to pray for At Her Table - for you - our community and for the plans for 2025.

As I approached the sand, I could see the waves were large, the roar of the crashing waves was all consuming, the sun was hiding behind a cloud and the tide was high. The conditions weren’t calm or peaceful.

I tried so hard to look for some ‘signs’ that God might be showing me in response to my questionings - I tried so hard to listen and look deeply at what surrounded me… and I got frustrated when I couldn’t see or hear anything. My heart was impatient.

After some time I let out the words “God, you always meet me here (at the beach) where are you? I can’t hear you. I can’t see you. Show me - I will go where you lead me.” I closed my eyes and sat and waited.

At that moment, my daughter appeared carrying a plate of salmon and salad. She said “here is your lunch mum, I am here to serve you, stay here a while longer and enjoy”.

I am here to serve you.” Why did that pull at my heart? I believe that was God's whisper. A moment where I was welcomed to simply ‘be’ the guest at God’s Table.

My heart (and belly) was nourished - my heart was still and I smiled. I picked up my pencil and paper and wrote the word; “Tables - where you will be nourished.”

And so it is that all our events will now be Tables. Because friend, you will be nourished here, at our Table.

With warmth and gratitude,

Lauren x
